Welcome to Sunset Systems

We believe that medical practice software should not be shrouded in secrecy or hoarded as the intellectual property of private interests. Doctors work together in a spirit of learning and openness, and so should their computer systems.

Sunset Systems develops and supports free and open source software for practice management and electronic health records (EHR), and provides associated hardware as well as installation, customization, conversion and training services.

We are a primary contributor to the open source OpenEMR project and its community of users. This is a mature browser-based solution that includes scheduling, billing and EHR. It may be run either from an in-house server or in a professional hosting facility.

Site Overhaul

Sunsetsystems.com has a new look. After years of hand-coding everything, I've converted the site to Drupal.

Content is mostly the same as before, but we now have a search feature and I'll be able to easily enter news items as noteworthy things happen. And of course it's a great opportunity to improve my skills and experience with one of the best Content Management Systems around!
